Can anyone provide a good home for Mario. He is three and a half. My daughter had him from a puppy but since having her first baby almost a year ago she found Mario and a baby too much to cope with, she just hasn’t got the space. All the family was against Mario being re-homed so he came to live with my husband, Ken, and me about four months ago (we had always been a second home for him in any case). Mario is good with babies and children, but he is very, very boisterous and will easily, accidentally knock anyone and anything over that is in his way. He hasn’t had the training from birth that he should have had, although since he’s been with us he is better behaved than he was, he needs to keep being reminded that he is not the boss that he believes he is. I am very upset at having to find a home for Mario but Ken and I do not want a dog at this particular stage in our lives, although if we can’t find the right home we will keep him, I can only let him go to a permanent home where he will be loved. Update: June 2010 – thanks to all of you who have read this. I’m sure a lot of you wonder what’s happened since. Well Mario stayed with my husband and me – he is an important part of our family and obviously we would never part with him now. He is marvellous with our two grandchildren and they love him to bits! My favourite picture!
